Wendy Bernard
Attorney Wendy Bernard has more than 20 years diverse experience in the mortgage banking industry, inclusive of 10 years experience as regulatory compliance counsel to lenders, brokers and mortgage loan originators. Advise clients on matters pertaining to Federal and State banking law and regulation, licensing and qualification under the S.A.F.E. Act, and develop strategies for a vast array of mortgage banking/brokering transactions to ensure compliance under TILA, REG Z/MLO Comp Rule, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, HOEPA, HERA, FCRA/FACTA, GLBA, Red Flags, AML/SAR, among others.
Attorney Bernard is the Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of The National Association of Mortgage Professional’s (NAMB), and the Organization Counsel for the Connecticut Chapter, CTAMB, and industry advocate. She is also an instructor for SAFE Act required annual Continuing Education, and was featured speaker at Women in Banking, 2014. She also represents mortgage professionals and represents clients who face administrative action and license deficiencies.
In addition, she is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Post University, Connecticut and serves as a Brigade Judge Advocate (BJA) for the Judge Advocate General (JAG), United States Army Reserve, a recipient of the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medals, with twenty-one years of honorable military service thus far, proudly serving.
